School Operation Matters

1.              What are the operating hours of the General Office?

·    The operating hours of the General Office are from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.


2.              Where can parents drop off their children in the morning?

For parents who do not drive

For parents who drive to school

Gate 1, Gate 2 or Gate 3 (rear gate to NJC Drive)

·   6.30 a.m. to 7.25 a.m.

Carpark C, Pick-up point at Canteen or Basketball Court

3.              Where can parents pick up their children after school?

*Vehicles will be allowed into the school at 1.50pm, after the school buses have left.

*Please note that the canteen pick-up point is for pick–and-go. Please do not wait in your vehicle as this obstructs traffic and poses inconveniences to other parents.




4.              What should parents do if their children are unwell and cannot attend school?

·      Parents should notify the form teachers via email. Teachers’ email addresses can be found at the school’s website. A copy of the medical certificate should be given to the child when she returns to school to submit to the form teachers.

Student matters

1.              What are the reporting and dismissal times for students?

·      Reporting time            : Before 7.25 a.m. (school hall)

·      Dismissal time             : 1.25 p.m.


2.              When do students have their breaks?

·      Recess time     : 8.30 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. or 9.00 a.m. to 9.30 a.m.

·      Snack time      : 11.30 a.m. to 11.40 a.m.


3.              What is the attire on the first day of school?

·      Students should wear their white blouses under their pinafores.


4.              Who do the students approach if they need help?

·      Students can approach their form teachers, subject teachers or staff in the General Office.


5.              What if students forget to bring their things to school?

·      It is alright for the children to let the teachers know if they have forgotten to bring their things.  This is part of learning to be responsible. We urge parents not to deliver forgotten homework or belongings to the school as we will not bring them to the children.


6.              Are CCAs available for P1 students?

·      CCAs are not offered to P1 students so that they can focus on settling well into the school.


7.              How do students know what to bring for lessons every day?

·    A timetable will be issued to the students by their form teachers. They should pack their bags according to the lessons for the day.


8.              How much money should I give my P1 child for recess?

·      $1.50 a day should be enough for the child to enjoy a bowl of noodles or rice during recess.
