Gifted Education Programme

History

RGPS was one of the two primary schools to pilot this programme in 1984. We began with a class of 31 pupils at Primary 4 but now, we have 9 classes with more than 200 pupils.

Apart from covering the same syllabus as those pupils in the mainstream programme, the GEP pupils are exposed to additional enrichment activities and more cognitively demanding exercises. These additional curriculum aims to enable the pupils to develop intellectual depth and higher order thinking skills through hands-on initiatives like Service Learning Projects. A differentiating factor of this programme is the individualised teaching due to smaller classes.
